Floto
A simple Flutter app based on Flash's design system, that the design team uses to prototype flows before building them for production.
2026 · Built at Flash
Each idea gets its own folder with its own fake data, and is built from copies of the real Flash app's buttons, sheets, colours and layouts, so it feels like the real thing. A launcher on the home screen lists every prototype, who made it and when it last changed.
To try a variant you copy the folder, so every version stays next to the others. One flow went through six versions this way.
Prototypes run on a real iPhone, so you can hand one to someone and watch them use it before anyone commits to building it.
The team builds in Floto with Claude Code, so I wrote three skills for it:
- build makes a prototype from Flash's own components,
- extract turns a finished Figma design into a spec matched to the design system,
- adapt works from a rough wireframe.
Designers, PMs and engineers build prototypes in it now, not only me.
